The gym itself was ok. Nothing special. My husband and I signed up for a year last March. We were told after the year is up they keep charging the account until we renew it or cancel the membership, which is totally fine. My husband went in the second week of March and told the guy at the front that he wanted to cancel the membership. The guy said that was fine and said after this month it would be cancel. My husband gave the guy cash for the month. There was no receipt involved. Three months later we get a call from collections saying we didn't pay the cancelation fee and we owe $247. we never got a letter from the gym saying we owed a balance or a phone call. Address and numbers haven't changed. We were complete blind sided. Either the guy at the front is keeping a little money for himself or they are very dishonest. That's not how you conduct business. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
first let me say that both locations have the worst customer service. I contacted temple this morning because I received a billing/collections call and have never been at this gym or signed up for it, thank god ! and the lady apparently did not understand that my name was not faith .... finally I just was over the fact that she continued to over talk me and finally had to say " let me speak to a manager " but of course no manager was able to talk to me.... then she hung up on me . I called back and of course she had the line off the hook because it was going to a voicemail for 30 minutes. I also called the harker heights and asked to speak to manager and of course the manager was not there either... THANK GOD I DON'T GO THERE AND NOONE OF MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY DO .. I WILL MAKE SURE OF THAT .. THE ABSOLUTE WORST STAFF ANSWERING THE LINE EVER !!!! AND PLEASE DON'T TAKE THAT STAR AS ANY KIND OF INDICATION THAT THEY ARE GREAT ... I HAD TO CHOOSE A STAR JUST TO POST ..
Best local gym, especially for the hardcore lifter or fitness enthusiast. A few too many pieces of equipment out of order at a time, but they're actively renovating and have redundancy built in, so nothing is "cut off". Solid value, generally friendly staff. Less clean than it could be, but isn't a big enough issue to detract from my experience or rating it 5* (especially given the condition, pricing and atmosphere at other local spots)
The music can be stupid loud. I'm fully aware you go to the gym to get pumped up while listening to sweet jams, but dude...save your ear drums and stay away from the dumbbell rack and cables right beside a massive movie theatre speaker.
Best gym I've ever been too. Staff is knowledgeable and professional. They helped me reach my goals and I can't thank them enough. I like a good sweat when I'm working out too so the atmosphere is great for me.
You have built a good gym, but it can be tweaked to make it much better. Turn down the music some, (you look like an ex military guy) put some boot in your employees asses and make them earn their paycheck by cleaning, making sure the functionality of the equipment, laziness is not an excuse. Maybe turn up the A/C. Finally, have your employees go by the racks to secure the weights a few times a day that will only take about 10-20 minutes. Or perhaps, when members sign up, give them the appropriate size Allen wrench(es) to tighten weights as they go for a welcoming packet. I've already seen a couple members bring their own.
If you are going to workout here, bring your own Allen wrench because it is very likely that 1 in 3 dumbbells you pick up are not secure/tighten. Yet again, lazy employers who are on shift not taking the time to screw in the plates on the various kind of dumbbells.
Most of the staff is pretty lazy, the short buff gal and another female employee actually clean and are nice, the others not so much.
For the owner...since I'm sure you read the reviews:
It's a decent gym, but I am currently on the look for a new gym to work out at. Definitely explore your options before being dead set on this one.
A good bit of the equipment have outserved it's purpose; however, they did just purchase a functional fitness area which is good. Some of the stuff still needs to go though. More is not always better.
I have not been particularly fond of this gym in the last year that I have been going. Before coming here, when I lived closer to the one in Harker Heights, that one was a little better. From previous reviews, yes this gym is extremely hot inside with no air circulation. Yes you go to a gym to sweat, but when you are like holy hell, dude come on, it's Texas, crank up the a/c at least some.
